Our Orchard's History
What started in 2017 with a planting of several trees morphed into a passion. With the dedicated help of my father, and my father-in-law our orchard now consists of well over one thousand trees spanning ten acres. We grow Chinese varieties including the standard Peach, Qing and Kohr as well as a number of other varieties that have taken well to our conditions, such as Szego, Mossbarger and AU Homestead.
We like growing chestnuts, it's as simple as that.

At the Cincinnati Chestnut Company we only grow and sell proven varieties of trees. We do not grow or sell "Dunstan" chestnut trees. There may be some hype around them however, they have poor to average nut quality and little consistency between the trees. Deer will certainly eat the foliage of Dunstan trees and some of the nuts. The seedlings that we grow are for consistent, above-average nut quality and quantity from superior lineage such as AU Homestead, Peach, Qing, Gideon, Mossbarger, Payne and Luvall's Monster, for example.
